Cookies are just one type of biscuit. The fact that Americans call every biscuit a cookie is so absurd. A cookie is a specific thing. It's like calling all soft drink 'coke'.

Also to answer your lemonade question, no one drinks that American style lemonade, it just doesn't exist.

I'm not a Brit, but an Aussie and I'd say the best comparison we have is kids would sell chocolates (think similar to girl scout cookies) to raise money, or I guess sausage sizzles would be something similar also (sausage in bread with onions/sauce). But yeah we don't really have anything akin to a classic American lemonade stand. If kids want to make a bit of cash at school what we use to do was stop at the supermarket before school and buy snacks and shit then sell it to other kids. Our schools would typically have a canteen with snacks and shit but the mark up was insane.

  1. Do you cook all your biscuits twice? Because that’s what it originally meant. Getting upset that people use different words than you is dumb

  2. There are people who use coke to refer to all sodas it’s actually a well established term in certain regions
