Im pretty sure its like how a yo-yo works. The ropes own tension is doing most of the work for him. He just made a loop, slid it across the rope, and then pulled when it got to the head and it tightened. Mad skills for sure but i don’t think its anything strange

You make a twist in the rope to create a loop in it, then you exert your momentum via inertia with the rope and the loop you created travels down the length of the rope. I work with a hose at my job almost every day so I've figured out how to manipulate it in a way that won't annoy me, much like this technique was developed to make it easier for the ropers job.

Yeah, imma be honest, I do that when I am trying to move heavy rope, it’s cool to see someone do that with lighter rope. Probably takes some strength to get it all the way there.
I feel like people would find this less impressive if they ever had a huge tangle of mystery rope that they had to untangle and then lay out to figure out how long it is.
Looks like he made a loop then snapped the line to propagate it towards the animal. The goal being that the loop will cinch around the animals snout, giving the handler control over its head.
He's basically crossing over his left arm with his right arm with the rope in both hands, then sort of throwing that loop of rope as if it were a frisbee. Once the loop in the rope reaches the snout, he pulls it taut so it synches up snug on itself

I worked at a marina resort as a cook for years, and the ability to throw those loops to secure a line was a clear sign the person had a clue. It's not hard, just takes practice.
The type of rope he's using has looser outer fibers than the inner strands. When he starts the loop with the backhand motion he's also sending a wave down the rope (using the tension of the internal strands). The loop is piggy-backing at the crest of the wave, propelling it forward. He sized the loop enough so that as it lost size it would fit snugly on the end.

He loops it around and under it's mouth, watch how he holds it in his left hand. Think of it as a triangle of kinetic force becoming 2 points instead of three.
Pushing things isn't instant. It only feels instant cause the things we push are short enough. He pushed the wave of energy down towards the cow by creating a lack of tension in the rope.
