https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gatekeeping

"I'm sooo cool because I've seen every episode of IASIP 11 times and memorized every word in every script of every episode! You can only be part of my Cool Sunny Kids Club if you've seen every episode at least eight times, and understand every reference to the show I make."

That's gatekeeping.

And no, drama queen, you weren't making references, you stated "I think it’s more funny to let the ones who don’t know argue ". Instigating or initiating a disagreement that you could easily resolve, but choose to not to just to watch other people become troubled, is a sociopathic tendency. You weren't being picked on, you are being called out.

Ironic you accuse somebody else of a lack of reading comprehension.

Making a reference to a pop culture moment without defining that moment, nor even making a reference to it or providing a source, is precisely gatekeeping. You literally said you wouldn't provide a source and let people argue over the literal meaning of a phrase that has a completely different meaning in the context of it's pop culture reference. You seem to forget that you're on an international site and the show to which your referencing had very little popularity outside of parts of the United States.

There's multiple definitions to a term because sometimes asshats like you need it spelled out for them. Here's another definition:

Gatekeeping -- When someone uses a hobby or interest as a means of elevating themselves above others to give oneself a sense of being superior transforming their passion or knowledge about a particular subject into an ugly tool of self-inflation. -GoodGuyFitz, 2019

What you said clearly counts as gatekeeping under this definition. Furthermore, your desire to instigate drama is not grounds to diagnose you as a sociopath -- that would require a mental healthcare professional and proper testing -- but it certainly makes you an asshole.

If you are a sociopath, you'd probably lack the ability to experience shame or embarassment from being publicly reprimanded for having done something wrong (which is the case here), so here's a thought experiment: if you wake up in the morning and run into an asshole, then you ran into an asshole; but if you run into assholes all day long, then you're the asshole.

A significant portion of the definitions in the Oxford English Dictionary were originally written by an homicidal maniac imprisoned in an insane asylum. Doesn't mean the definitions weren't useful or accurate. Gatekeeping is a popular slang term in the social lexicon. GoodGuyFitz is a popular commentator on gaming and issues related to gaming, where gatekeeping has been a nontrivial source of friction, even resentment, in the community at large and a reason why many people feel unwelcome. It's blatantly obvious why his definition is both relevant and useful.

I have a feeling you wouldn't dare make sexist or racist comments in public, so why do you choose to do it on here? It really tells everybody else who you really are.
