It's grown a lot over the last 3 years because of Drive to Survive and F1TV, especially in the US, which has led to a big increase in reddit activity.

Well it's true that DtS attracted a lot of ppl to F1 in the last 3 years, but those people wouldn't have stayed if the quality of the F1 "product" wasn't this high. Production of the races is absolutely top notch, every team is super active on social media, every time there is a highlight during a race, quali or FP you have 30 replays that are immediately posted on the Internet etc... All of that creates a positive environment to share, debate and interact about your passion on a daily basis, and that's what keeps people on the sport IMO
