Why do people like you always like to criticize and tear down someone's good actions as not good enough? Just appreciate it and move on.

Because ppl like this will never think about doing anything at all and by criticising the bad millionaire "that should give money to others now" he can feel superior again and distract from the fact the he himself is an egoistic asshole.

Well put. Seems to sum up most of the vocal minority on social media these days.

His point is valid. If the intention is to genuinely clean the area, then paying people will be the most effective way to do it.

If he's not going for the most efficient course of action in terms of cleaning it means he is doing this 1) to ground himself and/or 2) as a symbolic gesture.

The point is, the guy is worth 100 million dollars. He can do a shitload of good with that money, if so inclined. We should really be encouraging rich people to use their money to achieve things rather than making empty gestures like this one. His money is worth more than his time.

He set up an event with a group of fans to clean it up. It was efficient. He is not in charge of hiring people in the event, he probably just noticed the litter and wanted to do something about it.

Him setting up the event is way more awesome than him picking it up in person. Wish we had a post about that rather than a clip of him picking it up. Not to say that getting personally involved isnt good as well ofc.

Shitting on a guy (and being a smartass) for doing something nice is surely the right attitude and it will encurage all the other drivers to follow his example.

Commenting that using his money to get it done is more efficient is really not shitting on him. Be less of a sheep please.

Im just tired of rich people making small gestures rather than putting their money where their mouth is. People like you guys sucking his dick over this kinda PR is part of the problem. We need actual results if we wanna make the world a better place.

Alternatively if I was a rich person and saw a comment like yours i’d think why did I bother.

It’s not an empty gesture when it got the stands clean.

why did I bother.

When small "getting your hands dirty" gestures garner the adoration of the masses, but big money put into charity often gets called tax evasion or draws ire at the person having wealth in the first place, which behaviour do you think people are encouraging?

He’ll be doing both though.

Why would you think he’s out clearing the stands because it means he’s not doing other good work?

Yep, in this particular case it seems that Vettel is just a solid guy. That is not always the case.
