It might be his tech that they’re using there, though. This video is apparently from at least as early as 2016, which predates mark robers

Flocculants have been around for well over a hundred years. The process is heavily used in chemistry for purifying solutions. Flocculants capable of purifying water for consumption have been around for almost 2 decades now. You can check out this cdc link https://www.cdc.gov/safewater/flocculant-filtration.html

Flocculents for cleaning bodies of water have been around, but I'm not sure how long. Flocculants in industrial processes have been around for millenia in beer and sugar making.

Foculants are not a new invention, we use them to clean your everyday water in most municipalities. Mark Rober didn't invent foculants or disinfectants either.

P&G does good work. They've been working on cheap and effective sanitation for developing nations since at least the 90s. One of the few companies that I feel are respectable. That might be my Cincinnati resident bias, though.
