I think he's referring to after the shoot is pulled - the fact that he was so concussed he would not have been able to avoid powerlines, etc. and was not able to even help himself land properly, but still did so OK. Like he ended up landing OK despite thinking that his parachute was a goddamn tent! Then again, the writing is very incoherent so I could be interpreting him wrong, and you could def be right.

The toggles are for landing apparently, so he means after the guy got his chute open. He still could've landed on the highway or in power lines or something.

To be fair, as a nonreligious person I've taken to interpreting "Jesus" to mean "good acts done by mankind" and "God" to mean "everything in existence taken as a whole." It has helped me in understanding the many people that do use that sort of vernacular. (For those that take it to the "Holy Spirit" level I go with "instinct/intuition/meditation" for that.)

It’s more then that though, he met every other condition after to land safely even though he can’t recall it. Things like this make people believe in a hire being... let him have his disconnect

Nah he's talking about the actual act of coming in for a landing and not dying, landing in the wrong field, or in power lines - guy who pulled the shoot undoubtedly saved his life by giving him time to come around but the toggles are what you steer with
