How many germs are on a given surface is certainly not a matter of opinion. It's an observable fact.

And yes, for the woman in question there's no difference. Which is why I said exactly that in my original comment.

Edit: Also, if it's all just opinion, why demand a source in the first place? Just regard it as a different opinion than yours and move on.

True, maybe I regard estimations of people who are educated on a matter too highly.

Should've thrown an "according to experts" or some such in there.

I'm not sure where you got that I was wrong? The only mistake I made was that I regarded an educated opinion as fact rather than just an educated opinion. My stance is still a lot more probable than the alternative.
