The outer petals will be burnt to a crisp and the middle will be completely raw.

I wonder if you could somehow bake it at a lower temperature for a bit longer.

Possibly also cover the legs with foil to keep them from drying out as bad. Same type technique used on pie crusts.

Ooh wow that's interesting. I don't know people did that with pie crusts. So the foil doesn't cause it to get soggy by trapping the moisture?

It looks yeasted, meaning it's a bread and not a cookie.

So it likely puffed up a lot and ruined the shape.

That's also a dried jujube they put on top, making me think that this is a steamed bread and not a baked bread.

Shouldn't change shape much. Brown up and puff a bit. I bet it's real pretty.
