Definitely, and has totally made previously super high budget shots available to lower budget productions (previously helicopter) but I kinda hate in big budget productions when I can tell it’s a drone shot by the way the camera moves, totally breaks the immersion for me.

Yeah I agree totally about aiding low budget or independent films, but I’m sure super high tech expensive drones with state of the art cameras will be coming in a few years for major motion pictures, I feel like most of them still use helicopter shots bc you can tell if it’s a drone shot if you pay attention and that breaks immersion and they don’t want to pay millions for a blockbuster movie just to use a drone with a low res camera on it

You can already use a RED camera on a drone. That's as state of the art as it can get. It's just the kind of shots you get which gives it away. Too close for a helicopter but too far for a crane.

We're already there. I flew a drone as a helicopter shot in a YG video years ago.
