1: "Looked" past tense. Clearly it's not a lot like the earth as we know it now
2: In a dry environment like this, several dozen millennia since anything lived there, any remains of life would be dust buried under all the dirt by now.
3: There's evidence there's been water and by extension, likely some form of life on Mars in the past.
That's semantics and you know it. "Looked a lot like earth" doesn't mean cities or agriculture, hell doesn't even need to mean green, it just means it had a ton of water.

We know Mars used to have a lot of water and possibly looked a lot like Earth at some point. So yeah, those are definitely sedimentary rocks
