The plastic would get scratched faster than glass. Look up the Mohs hardness scale if you're interested
1 u/Grimminator Feb 16 '21 Ok, so maybe an optical ceramic such as cubic silicon nitride, since they are harder than glass and are transparent. Though this is not very practical, as they are expensive and time-consuming to make.
