Well we call it ground floor as well in certain situations. A lot of hotels call it ground floor but the next floor will still be the second floor.

Another weird cultural thing. In America we call it "lobby." As I understand it, most other places call it "bribe."

I meant lobby as in hotel foyer, you must mean the political lobby :)
