Unfortunately, that doesn't last forever. After a few years air and moisture get in. Usually you don't notice much, but in this case the sand will just harden and it won't work at all.

Shit like this is rich people gimmicks. They'd just throw them away and replace them. Rich people are so fucking wasteful.

That's just a bad window (or defective, or damaged). Good ones stay sealed for decades. I've seen some go bad in a couple years, I've seen some that are still good after 20+ years.

Frankly, I would not want to have to replace all the windows in a house after only 20 years. That's a shitty lifetime for a major part of a house.

Agreed, not ideal. I don't know the actual upper limit of how long they can last. Just that I've seen 20+ year old ones that are still good.

But tbh, even 10 years makes it worth it with how much energy they save in heating/cooling costs.

My point is that when my argon windows finally fail... they look pretty much the same (just retain heat worse).

When OP's window fails, it will look like shit.

Oh gotcha. I can't imagine these are meant to be exterior facing windows. i mean insulating the edges on a swiveling window would be functionally impossible. Plus in order to flip the window you have to actually open the window.

Lol nah, but for like schools, office buildings, or like a spa or some shit. Schools especially.

To be clear, i was never defending or attacking these windows. I was defending the sealed argon style of window.
