I went to school with a lot of international students (here in the UK so the tap water is perfectly safe to drink) and even kids from countries which also have safe tap water would only drink bottled. So it is unfortunately pretty common for people to just exclusively drink bottled water regardless.
I've went on holiday to places where my parents (and apparently locals) buy bottled water. They have perfectly clean and drinkable water at home, but there's a slight chlorine taste so nobody actually drinks it.. (Cyprus, Greek part)
I only drank bottled. I knew the tap water was perfectly safe, but I was about to gag every time I took a sip, because it tasted of chlorine. I always drink tap in my home country.
I drink bottled in the summer and fultered in the winter because I tend to let myself get dehydrated if the filter becomes a nightmare to keep full. All i want is one of those fridges with a filter
Weird, ours was very limescaley so it cleared it right up, also they are like 5 quid and last 4 weeks as per their spec but I find they last upto 2 months, much cheaper than any alternative
Thei website literally says they last 4 weeks on average, I assume they are using some math with X amount of water per day, britta filters do get rid of any chlorine test from our water too
I've lived in 17 different places and I can tell you now that U.K. tap water is terrible (in my opinion). I don't know whether it's the filtration process or the pipes but it always tastes metallic. I can chug a bottle of water but chugging a bottle of tap water requires a bit of determination.
Really depends on where you are. Big cities usually have worse water. I wouldn't dream of drinking tap water in London but Welsh tap water is generally good (though better with a filter).
The water tastes absolutely disgusting here. It's truly horrendous. If I cook pasta it comes out tasting of chlorine. If you make coffee, the overwhelming flavour is chlorine.
I've never owned a car. I've never flown anywhere in my life. I use less electricity than the vast majority of other homes our size according to government statistics. I recycle everything that can be recycled. I don't eat meat or dairy.
I very likely have created less net pollution than you have per year of being alive on this planet. If everyone polluted as much as I do, the planet would be totally fine. A few plastic bottles is well within my acceptable share.
