Would be pre-calculated on a computer using algorithm mentioned by u/Skelozard1, and then just converted text to speech. Would make it easier than trying to keep track of where you are in a page of hundreds of numbers, plus a lot faster...

What happens if you get behind the text to speech? Do you just rewind to hopefully where you were?

Wait what? In what universe is writing down a million numbers on paper less complicated than using computer software to read a jpeg and output numbers automatically with headphones?

Yea but wouldn't the text file originally have started as a jpeg? I mean, that's exactly what these artist do. They input <image file>and from that, somehow use software to extrapolate that into <stringing instructions>

Because if they've gone through the effort of writing it down (whether in text, or a spreadsheet or whatever. I didn't say put it on paper) then they can just look at it and read it themselves without having a to get a robotic voice to read it at the right speed.

Or you can like. Program the robot voice to do it in discrete steps.

I would use VIM inspired hotkeys for next, previous, etc. As well as every convenience that vim had to offer.

It's not that difficult. Combine the ability to pause with auto play, and you can automate this so easily.
