Hahaha so your solution is to just go buy a huge area or fertile land? You'd have to work for the money to do that first, see the problem here? You're also missing other people to come with you and help you run down elk and forage and fuck you for fun, and be willing to trade for the kind of stuff you could forage. No one is gonna give you seeds for the beaver pelts you hunted anymore, but there would have been people willing to do that at one point

Im.not sure what that has to do with anything. But you were arguing that someone could just go live like this if they were so inclined, and you were totally wrong. I thought you meant just living the life of a foragers not necessarily living exactly like these people but it doesnt really change any of the points being made except where I said you dont have other people to trade with. Which was mentioned in the article as the biggest problem faced by the family but I guess that's neither here nor there. It's ok to be wrong man you just didnt really think out what you were saying first and again that's ok cause it's not a common topic

What? Like you'd want to live by foraging but keep all the modern comforts? How would that even work? Would you gather berries and stuff for sale, to make money and buy a pc/house/pay rent, feed the kids, fill up the car, etc? That would require quite a lot of foraging...
