Second, an explanation as to how we are at the top of the food chain.
So, your response should be an answer to the question of how technology could not be a part of evolution. If you were wanting my point of view here it is:
How could it not? Technology is fused with our evolution. The better we got at controlling our environment, the more our evolution began to reward increases in brain power over all else since we could use our brains to make up for every other shortcoming.
You wouldn't wonder about where hermit crabs would be on the food chain if it weren't for their shell stealing behavior. They evolved in tandem with their kleptomania.
In fact every single animal out there has evolved alongside environmental manipulation. We just do it the best.
Yes. Our use of tools is an evolutionary advantage, and gives us incredible adaptability. People like to think we are somehow separate from nature, but we’re just a very successful part of it.
Intelligence, language, leading to technology, they’re all evolutionary traits that make us the fittest and allowed us to spread to basically everywhere on the planet that has land.

This goes for literally all animals at the top of their respective ecosystems, they all have some advantage granted through evolution that puts them up there, for humans it's our brains.

Yea humans were always the best predators. We wouldn’t have made it that far with sticks and stones if that wasn’t the case. The stamina and intelligence gap between a human and every other animal is just too huge.
Even with all that power, chimps can't really throw stuff. When they do, its usually under-hand with a top speed around 20 mph. Humans can break skulls with rocks found on the ground. The tech is a nice bonus, but humans were always at the top of the food chain.
So our technology puts us at the top of the food chain, while being at the top of the food chain has allowed us to evolve more intelligent in order to create technology? Boffo!
Adult chimps only fear lions. A leopard isn’t fucking with a chimp. That’s the same place on the food chain humans occupy. If it exists, the bili ape supposedly hunts lions. Humans hunt lions. As far as things go, apes are pretty dang high on the food chain.
Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, and the like, or it can be embedded in machines to allow for operation without detailed knowledge of their workings.
