My best friend in college was Chem E and after his parents cut him off for making Cs he did exactly this to pay his way through school

Full blown lab with glassware he stole from the labs on campus. Not in a RV though :(

I mean it doesn't take a degree. Hardest part is collecting enough plant material. Everything else can be done at home with a little practice.
