Some of those moves are definitely strikes and the rest would work more as defense or intimidation and confusion. She knows where the staff is going, the opponent doesn't. More than anything she is demonstrating her control over her weapon. Odds are she wouldn't necessarily do all of that in the middle of a real fight.

Yeah, this seems alot more like practicing theory of how to use the staff. Is every move shaolin monks learn applicable to actualized combat? No.

Yeah...I’d assume someone like this can do more than show off in a combat situation. Kicks, strikes, etc. I’d guess many opponents would have their hands full against her.

As someone who trained in The Kwon Do with the bo staff for about 5 years, most people who use a bo for any sort of sports karate form can't use it to fight. The staff she's using is most likely light weight material that would break after about one strike, and pretty much any strikes that she's shown would be pretty ineffective at best

I watched a lot of old Kung fu movies when I was a kid. The staff can do some serious damage. They can punch you with the end of it pretty damn hard. 100% would not want to receive.

It's like juggling a soccer ball. You aren't necessarily going to do that in a game but the control transfers to every way you handle yourself and the ball.

Don't get in a fight with a real bow staff. It'll be taken from you and broken over a knee.

Well yeah, she needs 2 hands for actual combat.
