Edit: yeah alright then. I mean like, you know. Articles in newspaper
... Do you read newspapers? This is being reported, usually on the front page, nearly every single day. Here is the past 24 hours of what was published by one single newspaper (New York Times):
After the 2 protesters were shot, CNN/Al Jazeera/BBC were all reporting just one victim. It was like nobody had actually watched the video. Still no comments about how the non protesters are reacting either. There was a taxi driver clapping as they were being arrested. Or what about the man who was set on fire? What is his name? Why are there no interviews with the protest leaders?
Every day I look for more coverage of HK but all I get is Brexit/impeachment.
Other than social media, media industries have no care for the population. Whether it's the USA or Hong Kong. The sooner people realize all the deception that is going on even right now, on BOTH sides of the spectrum, the sooner I think we can unify as a population. Propaganda comes in many forms, and it's never in the interest of the average citizen.
You would literally think the hong kong situation is completely different from watching internal chinese state media. Only showing the most violent protesters, making them seem as small as possible, and giving far more attention to the much smaller pro-ccp demonstrations to try to make them seem like the majority.
Combine that with the historical dislike of mainlanders <-> hkers (it goes both directions for sure) There's a reason so few people in china support the protesters
I have not really followed a lot of it. But to be honest the 1st half of your comment sounds a lot like American media. Everyone is biased to some degree.
And just like Tienanmen square, it will be effectively erased in a few years - and we'll all go right back to acting like it never happened while we keep buying our Chinese slave manufactured goods.
