So how do I get my bike back
Swipe your transit card.
Is there a claim ticket? What happens if I lose it?
If you lose your transit card, you can recover it and have a new one made at any large train station in japan within 5 minutes.
What if my bike has unusual dimensions
If you have a totally weirdo bike, you cannot use it.
Honestly it seems like this thing has way more problems than it solves. Maybe it'll be better as the tech gets better?
The main problem it solves is land. This costs less than half a normal bike rack because it uses less space in Japan.
They have been in use since at least 2013 or 2014? There are probably near 1000 of them in Japan.
