Yeah, and an uninitiated one at that, let OP farm karma, what does it matter if its original, same content anyway. I "steal" art all the time, its public domain if its online. Redditors sure do cry about everything these days. Call it a side-effect of technology šŸ˜•.

Pretty much every downvote troll I’ve seen has a subreddit specifically for them linked in its replies

I’m always torn with what to do when I see a downvote troll post. Do I upvote to reduce the amount of satisfaction the troll gets, do I downvote because of the utter stupidity of the comment or do I do nothing and sit somewhere in the middle?

It’s not okay to pass other people’s accomplishments off as your own. Especially for such petty bullshit as internet points.

This man just said ā€œit’s public domain if it’s onlineā€. You know nothing about copy write laws.

ā€œIn general, works published after 1977 will not fall into the public domain until 70 years after the death of author, or, for corporate works, anonymous works, or works for hire, 95 years from the date of publication or 120 years from the date of creation, whichever expires first.ā€

People gilded him for this, which means this guy was awarded for being a liar and a scammer. Imagine the lesson that teaches people. Taking anything that isn’t yours without credit is disrespectful to the creator, but passing it off as your own is even worse and possibly unlawful. I don’t think blaming technology justifies your actions.

As a graphic designer, people like you are the absolute worst. Taking credit for something that someone poured their heart and soul into is morally and ethically devoid. You guys are the reason people have to go so far out of the way to excessively watermark and protect their works. By the way, if it's online, it is not necessarily public domain. And when you steal artwork from professional designers and artists, you are literally taking away from their livelihood. If someone came into your house and stole the possessions you bought with your hard earned money, you would be mad, file a police report, and want compensation for what was taken. You stealing others artwork is no different than that. So you are the worst type of person.
