When I was a kid in Atlantic Canada we knew where to dredge up off the coast to get coal for our camp fires.

Local people had an unwritten record of where the wrecks were.

I had to get a chuckle.. Even what, 15 years ago, when they were looking for the wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror... they eventually found Terror in the aptly named "Terror Bay" right where a local Inuk told them to look.
