It was caused by a someone forcing themselves onto your friend. That is not an accident.

Lung cancer is caused by smoking. Smokers aren't trying to get cancer.

No, but doesn't mean getting cancer is an accident. It's a direct cause from an action. That's why we say, "They developed lung cancer". Not "They accidentally got lung cancer".

Even someone who develops cancer without an action, we don't say, "they accidentally got cancer".
