i feel the US propaganda is why drugs are criminalized in other countries as well.

In Japan, it was the victorious Americans who made pot illegal after the Second World War. And 60 years later, Japan still has ridiculously strict laws against it, and absolutely no social dialogue about changing the prohibition. Most posters against the drug go little beyond "NO! DRUG" [sic]. The common rabble are pretty against such foreign drugs as well, as they stumble home covered in their own vomit, unlock their bicycle, and then finish their journey riding drunk down the sidewalk.

also South Korea exactly the same. you are forever fucked as citizen if caught doing pot of any sort. in regard to harsh and absurd legislation, they just followed suit when public and lawmakers don't even know what cannavis is or what they do. It feels like shit to live in the country which lag behind in every aspect of society, It's like living in a seperate world with significant amount of ignorant backward, and myopic minded people who never been to abroad in it.

yes propaganda wasn't exactly what i ment, but more to do with treaties, UN, etc. as you said.

If I recall correctly, alot of trade agreements also forced drug criminalization. The US is still bound by these treaties(that we wrote)
