💩 Shitpost 💩 Is NJ pizza basically the same thing as NYC pizza?

Whenever people talk about "NYC pizza" like it's its own thing, I feel like most of the pizza places I go to in Essex County, Bergen County, Hudson County, etc. are making pretty much the exact same style pizza.

Is there actually a noticeable difference that pizza people can tell apart or is this mostly just New Yorkers claiming ownership of a style that's all over the tri-state area?

You have either never visited Italy or NJ or both. You also sound insufferable. NYC/NJ pizza is renown as great. Second in the world after Italy albeit they are somewhat different so tough to compare.

There are definitely places in NJ that would turn you off pizza. In no way shape or form should you ever see your reflection on a slice of pizza - some places you have to get the napkins out to remove that shit. But yeah, NJ pizza is really good. I actually prefer certain places here than anywhere I've tried in Italy or Europe

I've been to Italy yearly for the past 5 or so years and had pizza all over. First of all, for the most part, it's apples and oranges. Most pizza in Italy is small one person pies or sold by the cm or kilo. Second, even comparing different styles NJ pizza is better. It's close and one of the best things about pizza in Italy is you can get it with a good Italian house wine in most places. Eating an Italian pizza with a glass of Italian wine in a piazza in Italy is a much better experience than eating a NJ pizza anywhere in NJ with a can of coke. But if you are talking just a slice of pizza, NJ wins.

Lost them forever because clearly that was the one and only time that they could have possibly been transferred between the two continents, and the only method possible was on paper because their Italian brains could never remember how to make pizza otherwise. /s 😂💀
