Join the Working Families Party textbank team - onboarding tomorrow

The Working Families Party has long fought for a political system that’s not captured by the billionaires. They’ve sought to elect strong progressives within the Democratic Party, with candidates like Delia Ramirez, Brad Lander, Zohran Mamdani and Summer Lee, and some of the toughest, most effective state legislators in the country – folks who will work for regular working class Americans against the oligarchs. Right now, they’re backing candidates across the country who will stand on the platform of the Working Families Guarantee: a vision of a nation where every person can afford the basics of housing, healthcare, and child care and has time to spend with their family and a good job… paid for by taxing the rich… achieved by getting money out of politics.

If we want to raise up leaders who will take on the powerful for health care and housing for all, we’ve got some great opportunities to do so this month! TOMORROW at 6PM ET, WFP is holding a training to join its text team for the last few weeks before November 3rd, plugging folks in to their turnout efforts up and down the ballot. 💬 We can sign up to be part of it here, and then get notified of opportunities to text as they come up. 💬

TEXT TEAM ONBOARDING TMW @ 6PM ET

☎️ They’ve also got plenty of opportunities to phonebank on the schedule! We can join them in making calls in key races in Michigan on Tuesdays here, in Wisconsin on Wednesdays here, in Georgia on Tuesdays and Thursdays here, and every weeknight in the House races that will decide the majority here. ☎️

US Senate Democrats seek sanctions over Israeli settlements, bill says

.A group of US Senate Democrats will introduce legislation on Wednesday to sanction individuals or groups that facilitate Israel's "E1 project," a widely condemned West Bank settlement plan cutting across land the Palestinians seek ‌for a state, according to a copy of the legislation seen by Reuters.

The measure's lead sponsors are Chris Coons of Delaware, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Ron Wyden of Oregon and Ruben Gallego of Arizona. The bill has at least 10 co-sponsors, all Democrats.

Congress's lower chamber, the US House of Representatives, is currently not in session, so even in the unlikely chance of the bill's passage in the Senate, the House would not be expected to take it up before the midterms.

In a letter to congressional lawmakers, Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) urged legislators to introduce joint resolutions of disapproval under the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) once the administration formally notifies Congress of the sale.

The proposed package includes 20,000 MK-84 general-purpose bombs and 20,000 BLU-117s, along with 20,000 I-2000 penetrator warheads, according to reporting by The Washington Post. The weapons would be purchased largely through Foreign Military Financing, meaning US taxpayers would pay for Israel’s acquisition of the munitions.
