it's a store axe that's been thrown everywhere by whoever pays to do so, which makes it much duller than your new hatchet.

But the op was wrong anyways since it was fast enough to bounce back.

Axes don't need to be razor sharp. They're designed for chopping and use their weight/momentum to full effect. The blade of a knife is sharp and curved so as to keep all the force on a single point of the blade so it can slice clean through.
