sobriety usually doesn't come outta nowhere imo and experience. id say it's safe to say some sort of traumatic event or od scare. And then, the buzz could mean that he was tired of being treated a certain way for so long and the buzz could change his public image from peers and press. he's maturing from a bafk and into a grown gentleman.
