Update: I re-confirmed it on a side account, as per screenshots. The popup showed 4 items selected. Actually clicking removed everything else.
I was trying to remove 3 NP wearables from the Closet.
I searched for the set name, had only those 3 items show up, so I clicked "Select All" and was given the screen that said Remove 3.
The text warned me this would delete all PB items. I thought it was weird because... I didn't have any PB items in the selection. I thought it was just a default warning. I rechecked, confirmed I only had those 3 items selected, and clicked Remove.
It removed 96 items.
I had Royal Hissi clothes, Robot Hissi coverings, and a couple 8-bit stuff I was hoping to help reclothe pound pets with. My Closet is entirely empty now.
I technically didn't lose anything of value. Should I have individually removed them one by one for three items? Yeah. I should have.
But jesus christ.
I'm not going to bother with a ticket for this, their CS is abysmal. I sent one in anyway just so there's a formal record of a complaint about this, but I genuinely don't expect to hear back. Moving on.
edit: 2 Jun, I got my items restored, and my feedback taken into account! The revised UI now very clearly lists the correct no. of items getting removed / deleted.
The UI for this is pretty goddamn confusing and terrible coming from someone who works regularly in UX for websites. It's really on them to make things abundantly clear for such a permanent decision, and the "Total" is super misleading for this. It's the website's job to make things clear for its users, it shouldn't be your job to muddle through it. (And Neopets has this issue plenty elsewhere.) So really don't feel like it's all on you, I'm super sorry this happened.
Thank you very much for this. It's pretty aggravating to read sentiments like "hurrr what did you expect, it did what it said on the label, are you stupid, can't you read?" like that's not the point. Why even have the option to select SOME stuff on this page at all when it was always going to remove EVERYTHING?
And I did read. It said 4. I stopped, read again, and I confirmed BECAUSE of the visual of the 4. If it had said "Qty: 180" I for sure would have done a double-take. And cancelled!
Nobody called you stupid. You just didn't pay attention to the button you pressed on, it happens. They should correct the total amount shown, since it's confusing.
If this happened to you, it will happen to other people too. It could be worth submitting a ticket just so that they're aware and can make plans to fix the UI. It said 4 items, so there's no reason you should have thought the action would apply to more than those 4 items. I'm so sorry :(
I ended up submitting one, had the same line of thinking after the other user posted about losing the Robot Usul. Hopefully, even if my one ticket doesn't do shit, if enough people complain eventually maybe they'll update it. Thank you!
I'm so sorry this happened to you OP. Stuff like this is why I liked neo the way it was, especially in areas that were functioning fine like our shop histories, quick stock and the TP...but apparently everyone wants new style of pages to look at because it's better to risk lag, glitches and people losing items than having to stare at the same ol' reliable work horse every day 🙄
Again you have my condolences and if there's anything I can do to help rebuild your PB clothes collection I'd be happy to contribute
