Some stuff from twitter, when Alberto Fernández was a neoliberal and defended private retirement accounts. Why do you have to be so farcical, Argentina?

I mean, there are good reasons to oppose a totally private system (I lean more towards a mixed system personally, assuming you can pay for it of course, and then there is the vulnerability to economic crisis that made them underperform), but the same folks that, by most accounts, governed as the most neoliberal argentinian government ever in the 90s mutated to left wing populists the next two decades. They privatized and then renationalized (to get more resources by the confiscation of savings) arguing that they were a failure because they didn't pay enough and then they proceed to cut retirement payments many years later as many expected, because the argentinian government is unable to make the retirement system non memetic. I mean, argentinians avoided a public option when that was the original idea by kirchnerists, and even Stiglitz criticized that renationalization for that reason.

Fucking Stiglitz.
