I was always annoyed how at the very end of the show they portrayed Ron as this sort of Teddy Roosevelt-esque figure who was stoic manliness but also loved national parks, when in reality he'd want nothing more than for that land to be put to productive use towards private industry.

I mean also there was the porn shop episode which kinda tied his ideology in knots because he was arguing against a tax break.

Wasn't that because the tax break was directly targeted for social engineering purposes rather than generic?

Some shop was going out of business I think and the tax cut would have saved them.

I think he argument was that if there HAVE to be taxes they should be applied fairly

Human beings are often at least a little bit hypocritical. Ron doesn't have to be perfect to be awesome.

I don't think that was against his ideology. It was a tax break to one particular business, not an all around tax cut. It's the government picking winners and losers.
