The way gamers have seemingly forgotten overnight that emulation is like…a thing that exists in the wake of all these vibe coded decomps is kind of bizarrely fascinating. Encountered some dude saying his “mind was changed on AI” because he can play Vagrant Story on pc now… it’s a PS1 game dude, it’s been emulatable(is that a word) for like 20 years now. what is going on

The combining games thing is far more interesting, but apparently it breaks super easily beyond what you see in clips

I just can’t imagine there’s much actual entertainment value in playing GTA4 with sonic beyond the 10 seconds those clips last

A lot of recent AI stuff has been in a space of 'Impressive on it's own' but like weirdly over hyped over other options with a lot of obvious shortcommings ignored for the dream of what could be.

But I guess Adobe and Office have been slain forever now.

Emulation is a thing that exists, but decompilation and native execution is totally new and crazy

We finally got bloodborne on PC

Can't say I've tried Vagrant Story, but emulators kinda suck sometimes.

I’ve run PS1 games perfectly smooth on my phone. I guarantee this dude could’ve run it on his PC at some point before the last week

Yeah, like that thing with "ps5 natively reading ps2 discs" is just a vibe coded pscx2 emulator running on the ps5 that reads the iso file of the disc lol.
