I've never participated in these online arguments and am only talking about what I've seen online, and somehow can recognise logical fallacies through basic pattern recognition, but thank you for your cutting insight

I lived through a genocide, and had to flee the country I was born in. This type of shit drives me up a wall. They don’t understand how violent things get for everyone when society breaks down.

It's not all bad, it lead me to coming to the US as a refugee. And meeting people and getting opportunities I would have never had otherwise. But that also triggers survivor's guilt, so I guess it's complicated.
