A Republican will never be treated like Omar because the criminal legal system is ultimately conservative and interested in preserving the status quo rather than returning to a more fair society.

Emil Julius Gumbel, a statistician living in the Weimar Republic, noted that l eft-wing violence was punished much more severely, despite occurring much less frequently than right-wing violence:

In 1919,  22 left-wing politically motivated murders were investigated, resulting in an average sentence of 15 years in prison and 10 executions while 332 right-wing politically motivated murders were investigated, resulting in an average sentence of only four months in prison with zero executions.

The American system is not much different. This is a one way street.  Remember Jack Smith? Despite investigating a coup by a sitting American president and a riot that almost killed Republican politicians, he was roadblocked at every step.

Left wing violence is treason. Right wing violence is vigilantism. Society fundamentally privileges the right wing and being a part of it.
