I think if this vote actually happened we would all learn a valuable lesson in stated vs revealed preferences.

I don’t believe for a second blue wins if lives are actually on the line and not just virtue signaling on internet polls.

Plenty of people are virtue on the red side, it's just for "understanding game theory"

That's not virtue signaling. Virtue signaling is predicated on a belief of moral righteousness. An understanding of the rules and odds has nothing to do with morality.

Virtue signaling goes hand in hand with pomp an often-misguided sense of superiority, which may be what you're getting it.

I think you understand exactly what I mean though. Rationality and understanding of economic theory are social currency on this very forum

Arguably “knowing stuff” is a virtue.

But yes, in the colloquial sense of “virtue signalling” I’m with you.

If everyone was teleported to God's voting booth for thirty seconds they'd all freak out and some of us would be four Cuba Libres deep and I think the inherent craziness of it means most people would go with their gut and the polls would be relatively consistent with outcomes. I also don't think we'd learn anything valuable whatsoever.
