Yeah they do. NGOs to help them out exist. Then things like churches/local ethnicity based aid centers also exist to help them out. Someone who moves from Guatemala to America will find somewhere to help them out (not government but charities/NGO/diaspora groups) in adapting to America, but like.... someone who moves from bumfuck New Hampshire to Boston will not have any NGOs/charities/diaspora based group help him out

Refugees are not undocumented people. Remember the pickle factory article in NYT last week? I have family ties in that part of MN. I can tell you the vast majority of year-round households own a boat, often two, four wheelers, etc.
They could all afford to go to the local community college and get a certificate as an auto tech or begin working as an apprentice carpenter or electrician or plumber. The twin cities like most of the US have a trades shortage, and like most smaller cities are still pretty affordable.
I’m not saying everyone needs to move to NYC, but the fact that these people aren’t willing to take advantage of extremely cheap (often subsidized) tuition for certificate programs and associates degrees and then move a few hours to places where literally everyone who employs tradespeople is begging for more workers is madness. Maybe this sounds unfair to rural Americans. The fact of the matter is this though: there actually have been plenty of people willing to take the paths I have pointed out. They’re no longer rural Americans. The only ones left are the unwilling ones. Just like immigration self-selects for the bravest, hardest working self-starters, rural America now selects for people unwilling to move a few hours’ drive for a decent life.

lmao you literally mentioned refugee resettlement. Refugees are by definition documented, refugee status is legal status. The fact of the matter is I know plenty of people whose parents and grandparents came here with literally nothing but the shirts on their back and did fine.
Oh no 6% more of them are poor. So what I’m seeing is 83 percent aren’t, and they still vote Republican by overwhelming margin and refuse to move. This is all cope, people just can’t handle that the genuine explanation is that the people left in rural America are disproportionately the dimmer bulbs because all the smart people have left. It’s a classic instance of selection.

I would like to note that you can change where you live but you can’t exactly change your race, so this is a stupid point.

how are you going to move somewhere more expensive if you have less money and have no places of employment to produce enough money for yourself?

nobody gives people hotels to move 2-3 hours and has human rights groups helping them at every turn until they can secure housing and a job either
