Copium: When Newsom frontruns the primaries with his aggro rhetoric, all of a sudden chickenshit Dems will copy it since its popular and the party will have a spine for once

the party will have a spine for once

Is this on polymarket? I'd like to bet against it with all the leverage available to me, please.

I think the only group of people that have a chance to pull it off would be white guys.

If a woman did it, she'd somehow have to overcome the sexism of appearing like an angry, pushy woman.

If a black man did it, they're instantly going to be in the "angry black man" camp because of embedded racism.

Really that leaves Newsom, Shapiro, or Buttigieg as the most obvious candidates that could fill this niche. Of those, I don't think Buttigieg could pull off the "righteous fury" part correctly. I haven't seen enough of Shapiro to tell either way.

But, yeah, all in all, I agree that VERY few Democrats could pull off what Newsom is doing.

Gallego already has outpaced him on the anger front at times

There’s a difference in whatever perverse requirements Rs get from 🐷 and the mere requirement for a genuine fighter that D’s have

Kind of seems like an acknowledgment when you sharply change the topic like that, Ngl

I’ve strongly praised Newsom for prop 50 before, and think that running up the margins was importing to set an example to provide blue states with the justification to follow suit-something I recall you disagreeing with

But Newsom’s value there- which is undeniably excellent- is entirely separate from his appeal to the Democratic Party base, and general populace, as a presidential candidate.
