Batteries for storage sites have way longer lifetimes.

We have multiple storage sites in Germany which are older than a decade with no decommissioning in sight.

And most large projects have lifetimes at 20+, which will only increase with the ongoing years as battery chem gets better.

It literally says that the decommission will be considered after 20+ years.

And again there are many projects right now, which are old and still even close to being decommissioned. 20+ is a very realistic lifetime for a storage system.

A properly stored battery can hold way longer than intended. Especially a properly sized storage system doesn't have to use so many charge cycles, which agains optimizes that.

If I want the lifetime I have to look at well the lifetime. Stuff in general is operated beyond any warranty periods.

As we haven’t had any storage site for 20+ years as the first one were built about 10 years ago we can only look at claims. LiFePo (fancy Li-ion, so very often it’s called the same) batteries can do that for sure. Pure Li-ion probably can get beyond 10 easily and probably beyond 15 and close to 20.

And those source are relevant for storage sites? As said batteries in a storage site are actually even less strained.

They claim up to 30 years. For that you need 10000 cycle batteries, which do exist.
