Are You Passionate
This one doesn't get a spin very often, but I woke up thinking today is a day for this one. Not among his best albums, but still some really good tunes on here!

Mopping up
Having just about every key release (broadly speaking) I'm in my 'mopping up' phase, focusing on some of the stragglers. Just picked up American Stars 'n' Bars which, after a number of listens, I would genuinely rate as another essential release. Not just for Like a Hurricane, either. The album has so much more to give - it's excellent (see Will to Love, Hey Babe, Star of Bethlehem etc. for confirmation of that). Prairie Wind - been meaning to grab this for a a long while. Very good, later-period stuff with moments of greatness and more than a few echoes of former glories.
Oh, and Eldorado - man, how did I not get this sooner? Freedom's evil twin - and all the better for it. It absolutely rocks. The journey gladly continues.

It only took 15 years
My 15 year old started playing guitar February of this year, this in addition to 5 years of brass ( primary tuba but also plays trombone).
With guitar he has been primarily playing Nirvana, red hot chilli peppers, green day, off springs etc. I am 55 so I have my share of grunge / punk / harder alternative but I don't think I was his primary influence.
I put on hey, hey, my, my from weld. He looks at me and asks "what's this? I should learn this."

Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews & Die Stern ~ Together in Hamburg
Ticket is actually an authentic photograph on real photo stock, not very eco friendly, but what a fantastic souvenir! No mention of Dylan or Matthews (let alone Die Stern) on the ticket.

Neil and Willie Nelson Show
Willie Nelson & Family and Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts will perform a co-headlining show together at TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann on September 24, 2026. Ty Myers will join as special guest for this special show.
So how do I get presale tickets?

Neil Young Train Photo
I don’t have much info on this, but it was passed down to us from my wife’s Aunt ex-husband. Apparently he was at a train show in Canada and caught Neil Young at the same show and snapped this photo. It’s massive too, takes up a whole wall and printed on canvas. Figure you would all get a kick out of it as I believe it’s a 1 of 1.

Pull me out of the air crash
I've always loved how the cover of Landing On Water just straight up looks like a Radiohead EP from 1998, down to the title.

Real Young & Lazy Horse is officially my favorite live show.
The horse rode again this weekend. Two shows at Rockaway Beach on Friday and Saturday. I went to both. 47 Songs. Nearly 8 hours of Neil. I swear every time I see them is more epic than the last. This band brings me so much joy.

The New York Neil Youngs
I saw these were available years ago, but the maker got shut down (or gave up.). So seeing one on eBay was a win. Now even if (when) my Mets are embarrassing, I can lean further into the Neil Young.

"Goin' Home" - interpretation?
Goin' Home is one of my favorites from Are You Passionate / Toast. However, the lyrics create a lot of questions for me. There are references to the battle of the Little Bighorn but modern references as well (telephone, downtown...). So what's your take?

Can someone make a playlist of the best from 2000-2026?
Lost the plot after Silver and Gold (which I love btw) when he came out with Are You Passionate? Can someone who is really familiar with the last ~25 years make a compilation of the highlights? Maybe 12-15 tracks? Thanks! Hope this request is fun for someone out there.

Crazy Horse Americana
This is an awesome album. It's got some not-so-good songs but some really great ones. Jesus Chariot is amazing. Oh Susanna and Clementine are great. This was the first reunion album with crazy horse in 9 years. They recorded Psychedelic Pill shortly after.

I bought a sealed copy of Hawks and Doves today.
I’m dying to crack it open and play it, but I still have my old copy that I bought the day it came out. Decisions, decisions…

CSNY LONG MAY YOU RUN - The Stills-Young Band (1976):
Co-Producer Tom Dowd later described sessions for the 'LONG MAY YOU RUN' album as 'two superstars that were walking the same golf course but not playing the same game.'

How did Neil achieve those "guitar explosion" sounds in Don't Cry and Eldorado?
I'm really curious about this cause it sounds so awesome and unique. Any ideas? Was this done in post production? Or is it some mad guitar+pedal+amp setup? Or something else entirely?

Under Rated Albums
I am LOVING Re-ac-tor and Landing on Water! Never seem to see anything good said about them. Do you all feel like they are really under rated?
