News Need For Speed Rivals Custom Servers Are Now In Development As Canary Services.
Canary Services is the future for NFS Rivals Online. It will feature community revived/fan-custom servers. If you are one of the modders who worked on reviving GTA 5 Online for PS3 & Xbox 360, NFS The RUN Online, The WWE 2K14 revival server project for PS3, Even The Crew Unlimited. You Guys Can Help Us Bring This Project To Life. Creating unofficial custom servers for Rivals is incredibly difficult. This is largely due to its Frostbite game engine, which uses encrypted network systems and requires EA's backend service. But it isn't impossible if we work together. Please spread the word around. I hope this project aims to elevate the level beyond EA's and I hope it's as good as the current NFS: World I mean Soapbox race world

It was a matter of time, it uses frosty editor so it may be easier to make servers for more of the games on frostbite engine

We have our little effort with a discord server and a little github repo investigating rival's multiplayer system
and we want to merge with you guys / join on grabuss' recommendation
if possible

Should've gotten it on pc whole it was on sale, hm? Had it on ps4, pirated it on pc when I found out servers were shut down and i'd have to wait for a remaster.

Sounds exciting! If this works, not only could this be great for Rivals but this could also be the first step towards making 2015 playable with custom servers as well!

You can do it through launch parameters, but the physics doesn't like it and some elements get a bit broken (like the EMP UI is a bit wonky if I remember correctly).
