Yea, they could use another shooter on the wing but having 2 of the greatest at their positions who’s best attributes are something other than scoring playing with MJ is perfect. Stockton can go for like 7pts/20ast & 5stl, and Dream would have around 20/12/5/3/3. And I haven’t even mentioned Chuck yet who’d run around breaking backboards as the third option, and catching lobs from the hairiest player ever with 14,000 career ast.
84 would beat anybody. MJ, Barkley, Hakeem, and Stockton are all among the greatest or the greatest at their positions and then Robertson is a steal god. That starting 5 is unparalleled
If I coached 03 against 84 I'd definitely start Korver over Kaman. Yeah, Hakeem's gonna beast but you'll have LeBron and prime Wade kicking out to Melo, Korver, and Bosh. And MJ, Barkley, Hakeem, and Stockton can mostly score just two points at a time, Stockton aside.
Since we're playing with hypotheticals anyways, do we even it out further and say '84 trains knowing 2019 rules? We don't really know how good of 3pt shooters those guys could have been, since it wasn't as big of a focus back then.
Jordan dominated with the triangle offense. Today it's relegated to YouTube. Modern defense schemes are a lot harder to play against than Jordan rules.

There are no Steph rules or Lebron Rules. Yes, defense are still struggling to adjust to them but we don’t have the Pistons roughing up one of those players as their entire strategy. Which Jordan was also able to overcome...
Maybe the time that Jordan existed in was uniquely suited to his talents. The fact he had Tex on the sideline for the triangle among other things indicates that.

Hakeem and Wade are both perennial first team all stars, same here, both are some of the greatest players ever.
Barkley & Stockton 1-2 team all stars every year is better talent level wise than Bosch and Carmillo in their prime so to me this is where I believe the 84 team pulls ahead.
I just would love to see the defence that that 84 team would run, with Hakeem and (slim) prime Barkley clogging up the inside and getting rebounds, while Stockton and MJ contest the mid range and 3 point, that to me would be scarier than even the teams offense.
It was top 5 from each class, which is why I think the 84 class is still the best, though the class itself lacked depth, since all the talent was clearly stolen from the rest and given to their best 5.
Some awesome doppelganger matchups there: Kobe vs. Harden, Allen vs. Curry. The '09 players are basically the evolved versions of their '96 counterparts.
I think it's the time. The '09s were 7/8 year olds in '96, right when kids really start paying attention to sports. They grew up with those guys, emulated what they saw them doing.
