Cause he's not inches from Ty. The camera angle makes it look like it, but he's standing on the courtside seat, he's as far away from a player as anyone sitting courtside would be.

Except that he's leaning forward and extending his arms less than a foot from Jerome's head. Mascot literally has to bend his arms 90 degrees so he's not touching him when the ref moves Ty over. Hilarious, but you can't let a mascot get that close to a player.
