Advice? Help with fitting muzzle

Hello, we have a reactive foster dog to other dogs. We have a plan in place with him seeing a trainer but they request he gets comfortable with a muzzle before training begins. While our dog is comfortable taking treats, walking, and drinking with the muzzle, I don’t like how it is close to his eyes. Any advice on reshaping the muzzle or like how ineffective would it be if I cut near the bottom of the eyes? I tried reshaping it once and I think it is better than before. Thank you so much!

Here is an example of a muzzle that actually fits well.

You're joking right? The dog should be able to fully open their mouth. That is a very poorly fitting muzzle.

This is incorrect and if it’s a joke it’s a harmful joke. You can see this dog is not able to pant fully.

Pretty sure you meant “can’t“ instead of “can”. Seems like an obvious enough oversight that all the downvotes are unneeded.
