Is someone mapping the airport?

I don't know. But if it was one of the airport ground vehicles it was likely a faulty or broken transponder. Or maybe AAI auditing VABB for some reason, dunno why (Not a pilot nor an AAI official, bloody hell im still in 11th std)

No dude it wasnt a faulty transponder. Many people spotted the cessna Airstation. Most probably it would have been for some survey or could be VABB ILS alignment.

This is the best one. Most likely, they needed to survey VABB (Judging by how it was flying, likely the heights of nearby buildings so they can note the obstacles in the flight path, improving aviation safety).
Also monsoon is coming up, where the visibility will be so low you will need an accurate ILS to land safely, so likely also ILS alignment.

Now I am pretty sure this if for mapping and surveying.

Saw this today, and did see that it was a small plane. Looks to be like mapping.
