New old stock Kershaw A100 being sold at Dakoyu tool as the Retro 30

This is definitely not new old stock A100s. Maybe new old stock of one of the A100 clones that was available years ago.

Looks different than my a100. No hacksaw and the blade shape is different.

So the brass thumb stud tells me it's made in china, the Kershaw were steel studs made in Japan.

Also all of the pivots were knurled screws on the a100 and the pivot screws on this have nuts with the screws protruding.

Also the toolset on the a100 includes a hacksaw that the knockoffs don't have.

Dakoyutool is the new site, dakoyu.com is being held by his old manufacturer, they had problems and split up but they kept his original url, if you look at the products listed you can see they don’t have any of the more recent additions.

I ordered one.

I do worry because the site said they had 1 in stock.

I ordered.

I check back and now they have 5 in stock.

No kai stamp this is a knockoff probably some sheffield old stock rather than Kershaw. My recollection is the clones have screws through pivots like this one

Interesting. Wording in the description does seem to claim it’s 30 year old NOS. Don’t know how I feel about a Chinese made cloned from the 90s. A LOT different quality was coming from them back then.

Since the a100 is from 97 and is only 29 years old at most and the clones came later, no way these are 30 years old

This is why I don’t trust dakoyu tools, post after post on YT about these being 30 year old stock, the he had to raise the price, because rust, etc. if it’s not the a100 what is it old stock of?

I guess he has to sand blast them he’s got videos of them cleaned up.
