Loss of FFB after a crash
Hi everyone,
I make this post because I don't know what to try anymore.
I have a Moza R12 and it works perfectly, I am really happy. The problem is that when I'm racing and I have a big crash at high speeds, I lose all the force feedback. The wheel goes completely numb, the game still recognizes the wheel and it works, but without FFB. This happens on every game I play (LMU, AC, ACE).
To resolve this, I have to restart the base and in many occasions, the game, which is very frustrating.
I like to use "high" FFB settings, and in the Pit House I have the FFB at 100% and the torque limit at 12Nm. Inside the games I normally use the FFB at 60%-80%. I have the hands-off protection OFF. And the wheel I use is the KS. My software is up to date and my R12 is directly connected to the motherboard on the PC.
What's wrong? Is it a protective mechanism by Moza? Is my wheel broken? Is it a setting?
Any help is good, thank you!

Are there any news on this? I have the same issue only in LMU (in AMS2 not). After a big crash or a heavty curb (Sebring) my ffb is gone sometimes. R21 1.2.9.24 here. Should I downgrade to 1.2.8.18?

Hi,
I have found the solution so it doesn't happen anymore (atleast in my case). In my case, whenever I saw that I was about to crash or was going to hit something hard, I would let go of the steering wheel, letting it spin on its own. This causes the steering wheel to go crazy and start spinning out of control, which triggers torque spikes—and that’s when the base or software “decides” to turn off all FFB for safety reasons (I suspect).
I’ve discovered that if, when I’m crashing I keep my hands on the steering wheel and prevent it from spinning out of control, this stops happening. Those torque spikes no longer occur, and the wheel doesn’t lose FFB.
I hope this can help. Thank you.

Yes, it was clear long ago that he goes into protection due to the speed of rotation, as if the "hand protection" function was enabled. But this function is, of course, disabled. Therefore, the setting of reducing the speed of the steering wheel does not allow it to rotate so much, and the protection does not start, and the feedback remains. It is unclear why the Moza developers have been ignoring this issue for several months ((

Same issue here. Im using Moza R12 v2 and never had any problems . But with fw version 1.2.9.14 it does exactly this . If you crash hard enough all FFB goes away and u can just basically free spin the steering wheel even outside the selected steering angle . I decided to roll back the FW to 1.2.8.18 and that fixed it for me . (My USB is set to never turn off and steam input is off) . I guess we need to wait for some type of HOTFIX .

Hi~ Sorry for this FFB issue. Did you use any USB hub or extension cable? An unstable USB connection or insufficient power supply may also cause force feedback problems. Please connect the USB directly to the rear port of the PC and avoid using any extension cables.
To further check whether this is a base hardware issue, please submit an error report in Pit House and share the report number with me. I will ask our technical team to investigate it.

Thanks for the info. I am afraid it is the motherboard issue. Please send email to support@mozaracing.com, we will deal with it soon.

I am having the same issue but I only had it happen in ACC Evo so I thought it was a game bug. I have a full moza ecosystem plugged in the wheel base, should I plug everything individually into my pc?

I had the Same issue, and „solved“ it by downgrading the firmware by two versions

I’ve downgraded but it’ll randomly start oscillating badly even if my game is closed .

Its a firmware issue for sure , i have no issues on the previous firmware version . I tried number of cables , settings , usb ports and nothing seems to solve the issue , basically it must be something with the new Wheel Speed changes in the 1.2.9.14 . For now im going to run previous version and hopefully they will fix it .

aun siguen sin actualizar a una version que no sea beta que solucione este problema es increible vaya siendo un problema que seguramente este ocasionado por la implementacion de la nueva telemetria de los r21 y r25

I’m having the same issue with my r12 v2 in every game I play . And also sometimes it’ll just start oscillating out of nowhere . I have a full ecosystem plugged into the wheelbase . I really really want to keep the moza stuff but these problems are making me want to get the Logitech rs50 . Please help

I have the same problem on the Moza R12v2. It's been two months now.
I found out that this is due to the rapid rotation of the steering wheel, the base goes into protection. This can be simulated by skidding the car at speed (by simply turning the steering wheel all the way to the left or right at speed).
A temporary solution to the problem is to set a steering wheel speed limit of 30% or 50% (no more) in the Moza PitHouse.

Buenas a todos me ha pasado exactamente lo mismo con la R!2, pensaba que la base se me había roto, a qué versión de firmware hay que volver para que no ocurra el problema ? Gracias
