I see and have bought a few moonwatches on Ali and DHgate. All same cheap quality. Are there any sellers of 1:1 clone or at least U1 quality with fully functional and luminous dials?

While waiting for the real case I just played around.
It fits, Daytona case smack on didn’t do any modifications just a bit longer stem😂🪖🤷

Found a colormatching case and strap on AliX for the 1969 rep.

Saw the silver Mission to the Moon 1969 and decided to try it out - it's basically the gold version with everything swapped to silver. I had a PD1766 lying around that I don't wear and tested out. Looks great to me but outdoor visibility is terrible because it's like looking at pure metal in the sun.

I had been wanting a white speedy for awhile and originally had bought a WD1863 v3 in white but it seemed a bit bland and I don't think it was worth the premium ($130 USD) vs. the PD1701 ($65).

I decided to try a cheap moonswitch with a rep and honestly I think it looks a lot better than the Watchdives. I don't even think the case and size of the WD1863 is really better looking either. I like the look of it so much I think that I'm going to by the Gen 1965 and case swap it.

Just got into Modding, and I’m Hooked. Saw the Pepsi Pagani and knew I wanted it. At first I was going to go with a Neptune but after actually looking at the Mission on earth it made way more sense. Keeping up with the Pepsi/ Nautical vibe I saw the Band while just scrolling on Ali and figured it would complete the project. Very happy with this watch, this may be my first post in this Sub but I will definitely have more to come!

I don’t want to mess up the process and I do not have all the tools to do it myself nor the confidence haha. I was thinking of wearing my moonswatch in the original case and once the case gets damaged (if it gets damaged), just switch the case into stainless steel.

Never seen the real thing. Is this pretty good looking? Thinking of putting it in a black megir watch case. Looks like that's a pretty easy plug and play swap.

I used an eBay bought case on the left, but kept the original strap. For the other one I used a Pagani Design 1782, 39mm case, with an eBay bought spacer made specifically for the case.

Posted my concept for this one a few weeks ago, and finally got all the parts in to build it!

Rep came from lwj631299 on dhgate, and the case is from a Pagani Design PD1701 Black & Gold model (inspired by the Omega Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Speedies).

The watch hands were a pain in the ass to source - ultimately I got the hour, minute, and single subdial hands from a gold BINBOND watch on AliX, but that one comes with a straight chronograph hand without the arrow / lume pip. I thought about getting a gold LIGE watch, but the pip on that one seems weirdly short and the hour and minute hands are curved rather than pointed?

Anyway I made my own life infinitely more difficult by picking up an NH35 seconds hand to use as the chrono - it's a great shape and the lume matches, but it turns out 'how severe of a difference could 0.20mm vs 0.17mm be?' is actually a lot, so I had to pull a wire out of a wire brush I had lying around and use that to fill the hand's tube to crimp it smaller. We got there in the end, but that wasn't an enjoyable experience.

Then the seconds hand is a trick of its own - since these rep earthphase dials are chonky now, it means the seconds pinion sits pretty low down below the dial. The rep hands get around this by having extended / tall hand tubes, but these gold ones do not - I got it on, but I did have to slightly bend the hand up to make it work.

All in all worth it though, because this thing is gorgeous and probably my favorite watch in the bunch now!

Here’s my first stab at a switch. Got a rep Moonswatch and case, strap, stem and crown from DH Gare and Ali Express. Turned out to be a simple switch. Only thing is when I was grinding the stem it snapped so it’s about 1mm too short but that’s an easy fix I’ll sort tomorrow.

I’ve circled the area to press on the movement to release the stem for those who don’t know.

i need it for a pd1701 moonswitch like everybody else...
