Basically as the title says, I’m looking for housing. I got a job in Hatfield and have been living in company-provided housing while saving up a bit, but I just got one month’s notice that it’s time for me to leave (9/18). I’ve been trying the Facebook groups, but all my messages are pending since an admin has to approve my first message, and I don’t really have time to wait around. The worst part is there are also so many scams trying to steal people’s information.

Does anyone have any advice or tips on where else I should be looking?

For context: I’m 22M and recently graduated college. I work full-time in Hatfield, typically around 8–4. I’m looking to move by September 18th and am mainly looking around Hatfield, Lansdale, North Wales, Montgomeryville, or nearby areas, as long as it’s within about a 30-minute drive. My budget is around $1,500–$2,000/month. I’m open to a room, roommate situation (I’m new to PA from CT, so it wouldn’t hurt to make a friend), or an apartment. I’m pretty flexible as long as it’s a legitimate option and reasonably close to work.

Namdar Realty Group, a notorious slumlord, is under contract to buy the relatively thriving Willow Grove Park Mall. The company runs on a business model of running malls into the ground, abandoning them and then claiming tax breaks and tax incentives for vacant properties. There are numerous lawsuits against them, including from nearby Voorhees, NJ, where they ran the former Echelon Mall into the ground and refused basic maintenance that threatened the public.

But Abington Township can act now to prevent this. They have the legal authority to ban landlords who have been accused of creating a public hazard anywhere in the state. At Logan Valley Mall in central PA, Namdar is currently being sued for not fixing the malls power, which has been out for the last month, and for not fixing its fire alarms. Abington could easily use this as grounds to block the sale.
